Chittagong’s drug arena is now a flower arena

A DC Park with 194 acres of land on the Faujdarhat-Bandar link road of Chittagong. Once there was a drug arena here. And with the initiative of the Chittagong district administration and the genuine cooperation of the people of this region, the drug arena has now turned into a flower arena. This park is now a place of pride for the people of Chittagong. Through this park, the reputation of Chittagong will spread more among the people of the country and outside the country.
Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony of Chittagong Flower Festival 2024 organized by Chittagong district administration at Fouzdarhat, Chittagong yesterday.

The Cabinet Secretary said that flower festivals are held at different times of the year in different countries of the world. There was great excitement in the city around the festival. Not only the people of that country but also the people of neighboring countries participate there. So Chittagong Flower Festival is a new experience not only for me but also for Bangladesh.
He also said that not only flowers and ponds, many projects have already been taken around this park. After the successful completion of the project, it will be a follow-up and model project for other districts of the country. This project will give us peace of mind and also contribute to the country’s economy. At this time, he requested all the District Commissioners to take new initiatives for the mental development and economic prosperity of the people by using innovative thinking like Chittagong.
Chittagong District Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said, our aim is to connect the new generation with nature. For that purpose, we have taken the initiative to make playgrounds and cultural centers on special land of 191 unions of Chittagong. Already the work of making 100 fields has been completed. Meanwhile, he expressed the hope of completing the remaining 91 fields by next June.
Chittagong district administration has organized the Chittagong Flower Festival 2024 for the second time, inspired by the colors, smells and rhythms of nature. The festival will be open for public from 25th January to 23rd February daily from 11 am to 8 pm.
