14 products of Bangladesh hoping to get GI certificate

The Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (DPDT) under the Ministry of Industry of Bangladesh issues GI recognition and certification in accordance with the rules of the international intellectual property rights organization ‘World Intellectual Property Rights Organization’ (WIPO).

According to information received from DPDT, the 14 products for which applications have been submitted are-
Jessore date molasses
Pendant of Narsingdi
Amritsagar banana of Narsingdi
Nakshikantha of Jamalpur
Pineapple of Madhupur
Sundarbans honey
Agar-Atar of Moulvibazar
Haribhanga Mango of Rangpur
The pearl tree
Sweet drink of Rajshahi
Chhanar Payesh of Sherpur
Bhola raw buffalo milk
Rasgolla of Gopalganj
Nag Fazli Mango of Naogaon
In addition, two other products are in the application process. namely-

Litchi of Dinajpur
Saree of Tangail
