Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has said that they will hand over 330 Myanmar soldiers, including Border Guard Police (BGP), who took shelter in Bangladesh, on Thursday (February 15).
BGB public relation officer Md Shariful Islam confirmed this to media on Wednesday.
He said, “Some 330 Myanmar Border Gourd Police and other armed forces, who took shelter in Bangladesh due to the internal fight in their country, will be handed over to the Myanmar authorities under the supervision of BGB.”
On Thursday, they will be handed over at Inani Beach Navy Jetty Ghat in Cox’s Bazar at 8:30am, he added.
Earlier, 330 members of Myanmar border and security forces fled to Bangladesh amidst ongoing clashes with the Arakan Army.
Meanwhile, two people–a Bangladeshi woman and a Rohingya man– were killed when mortar shells from the Myanmar side landed on a kitchen at Jalpaitli village of Ghumdhum union in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban recently.
