The decision to rename Sugandha Beach as ‘Bangabandhu Beach’ and ‘Muktijoddha Beach’ was canceled within a week.

Meanwhile, at around 8:30 tonight, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said, “The instruction to change the name of the beach has been cancelled. No such decision has been taken from the ministry. Also, the decision to take action against the officer involved in the incident has been finalized. We are taking action against him.’
It is to be noted that Solaiman Miah, Chairman of the Central Command Council of the Sons of Muktijodha Ishan Sangsad, applied for naming Sugandha Beach as ‘Bangabandhu Beach’. Later, a decision was taken in the 13th meeting of the Parliamentary Committee related to the Ministry of Liberation War and when it was recommended to the Ministry, the Ministry gave instructions for its implementation.
