A case has been registered in the Chittagong Cyber Tribunal Court against an Islamic speaker who recently made controversial comments on the holy Shabbrat on social media. The court accepted the case and directed the Counter Terrorism Unit to investigate and submit a report within a month.
Fuad bin Hakim, a member of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at, filed this case in the court of Chittagong Divisional Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad Zahirul Kabir on Tuesday (February 27).
The accused in this case is Sheikh Akramuzzaman bin Abdus Salam Madani, the founder and director of Ihya-us Sunnah Foundation. He is a resident of Uttarkhan area of the capital.
It is mentioned in the statement of the case, last year a video was uploaded from a YouTube channel named ‘Da’wah Tv Network’ with the title Shaba Barat and Shabaan according to the standards of Quran and Sunnah. In that video, ‘ugly’ wajs were performed on the holy Shabe barat. On February 25, the video with the controversial prayer from the defendant’s YouTube channel called ‘Islamic Dowa 24’ went viral on social media. On the same day, a related video was uploaded from the defendant’s Facebook account. In that video too, the holy Shabe barat was preached by ‘insulting’.
In the case, the defendant has for a long time been scorning those who follow the Quran and Sunnah as blasphemers, and the plaintiff filed a complaint under section 28 and 31 of the Cyber Security Act, 2023.
