Sixteen shops were gutted by fire as it broke at a kitchen market in Uttara Sector 11 in Dhaka early Tuesday.
The blaze originated at the market around 2:05am and spread soon.
Eyewitnesses said there were also furniture and mattress shops inside the market.
A total of 10 units of Fire Service from Uttara, Tongi, Kurmitola, and Pallabi stations able to extinguish the blaze around 2:45am.
