Quader blasts BNP’s call for boycotting Indian products

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has alleged that the BNP is trying to destabilize the country’s market system in the name of boycotting Indian products.

He was speaking to reporters at a briefing at the Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi on Friday.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said a large portion of our daily commodities comes from India.

“One leader of the BNP wants India’s help to save democracy, while another leader calls for the boycott of Indian products. The BNP as a political party has lost its way.”

Referring to BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi discarding his Indian shawl on Thursday to set an example, Quader called it madness.

“Reckless BNP is trying to destroy our relations with neighbouring states. These are nothing but acts of madness and unrealistic activities.”

Stating that this country’s relations with India are friendly for national interest, he said it is possible to reap the benefits of building relations with neighbouring countries through dialogue.

Mentioning that the Awami League has responded to the BNP’s movement in a logical manner, he said the Awami League is not worried by a broken party like the BNP
