BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been shifted to cabin from critical care unit (CCU) at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain stated it to reporters on Thursday.
Dr Zahid Hossain said, “Madam (Khaleda Zia) was at the CCU. She has been shifted to the cabin at the recommendation of her medical board. Her treatment is going on at the cabin under close supervision of physicians.”
Khaleda Zia was drove to Evercare Hospital from her residence at ‘Firoza’ in Gulshan on Wednesday evening. The 79-year-old has been suffering from arthritis, heart disease, lung infection, liver and kidney complication and diabetes.
She was admitted to the Evercare Hospital on March 31 last where she was given treatment keeping at the CCU. She returned home from hospital after three days.
On October 26 last year, three US specialist doctors performed the hepatic procedure known as transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS procedure) to alleviate fluid accumulation in Khaleda Zia’s abdomen and chest, as well as to address bleeding in her liver.
