Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have exchanged warm Eid-ul-Azha greetings, reflecting a spirit of festivity, sacrifice, generosity, and unity shared by both nations.
In a letter dated June 6, Prof Yunus expressed his appreciation for PM Modi’s thoughtful message and extended his own greetings in return. He acknowledged Eid-ul-Azha as a time of reflection that unites communities and inspires collective efforts for the well-being of people around the world. He also emphasized the shared values between Bangladesh and India, voicing his confidence that mutual respect and understanding will continue to guide bilateral cooperation.
The interim government shared both leaders’ messages through its official social media channels on Sunday.
Prof Yunus offered his warmest wishes to PM Modi and the people of India, praying for good health, happiness, peace, progress, and prosperity on the occasion of Eid.
Earlier, PM Modi had conveyed his greetings on June 4, on behalf of the Government and people of India. In his message, he described Eid al-Adha as an integral part of India’s rich cultural fabric, celebrated with joy and devotion by millions of Indian Muslims. Modi highlighted the festival’s enduring values of sacrifice, compassion, and brotherhood, noting their relevance in building a more peaceful and inclusive world.
PM Modi also wished Prof Yunus good health and well-being, further reinforcing the cordial diplomatic ties between the two neighboring countries during this festive period.
