Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin congratulated President Mohammad Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina respectively on March 26 Independence Day.
Xi Jinping said that over the past 53 years, Bangladesh has steadfastly upheld its independence, made efforts to develop its economy and improve people’s livelihoods, and achieved significant progress by laying a solid foundation for the realization of the ‘sonar Bangla’ dream
The Chinese president also said that China and Bangladesh are traditional friendly neighbors and the friendship between the two countries has grown stronger. In recent years, our two countries have enjoyed strong and deep political trust and fruitful practical cooperation in various fields, which have brought tangible benefits to the two peoples.
Meanwhile, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, “Congratulations on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation and myself on the occasion of the National and Independence Day of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.”
He said that Russia-Bangladesh relations are developing in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect, trade and economic cooperation are progressing and various joint projects are being implemented in view of this.
The Russian Prime Minister said that if the two countries work together, the friendship will be stronger and the interests of both will be protected. Russian Prime Minister wishes Sheikh Hasina good health and new success in her responsible work and happiness and prosperity of the friendly people of Bangladesh.
