Quota reform activists protest in Chittagong
On Friday , they gathered in front of Andarkilla Shahi Jame Masjid and started the procession. The procession proceeded towards Newmarket junction through Laldighi Maidan.
After halting for half an hour there, the procession went to the railway station area and then passed through Lalkhan Bazar to the gate number 2 area of the city and ended.
After Friday prayers, the anti-discrimination student movement started from Andarkilla intersection and proceeded towards GEC intersection via Newmarket, Tigerpass. When tension arose on seeing police armored vehicles at Wasa intersection, the agitators started pelting stones. Later it moved from Wasa to Almas Cinema Hall. At this time they vandalized the police box.
Earlier on Friday, after juma prayers, the agitators started gathering despite the rain. After the rally, the procession will proceed towards Newmarket junction through Laldighi Maidan. The protesters stood there for half an hour and raised slogans.
Additional Commissioner of City Police (Traffic) Masud Ahmed said that the agitators attacked the police box while taking the procession. No one was injured.

Khan Talat Mahmud Rafi, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement in Chittagong on Thursday night, called a “prayer and student mass meeting”.
He called for the participation of all sections of the society including students, teachers, lawyers, doctors, intellectuals, cultural workers, media professionals, human rights workers, scholars, workers, parents.

Many protesters gathered in front of the police at Andarkilla intersection and started shouting slogans.
The agitators demanded justice for the victims of the quota movement and demanded the release of the detained students.
