Secondary school students across Bangladesh will enjoy a 19-day holiday starting June 1, combining Eid-ul-Azha break with the scheduled summer vacation, as per the 2025 academic calendar.
The vacation will run from June 1 to June 19 for both public and private secondary institutions.
For colleges, the Eid holiday will begin on June 3 and end on June 12, according to education ministry sources.
To compensate for the extended break, educational institutions have been instructed to remain open on two Saturdays—May 17 and May 24—which are usually weekly holidays. This is aimed at ensuring regular classroom attendance before the holidays.
In addition, the government has officially declared June 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) as public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha. All government, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices are expected to remain open on May 17 and 24 despite being weekends.
Meanwhile, government primary schools will observe their Eid and summer holidays from June 3 to June 23.
