Sheikh Hasina, president of the Bangladesh Awami League and ousted Prime Minister of Bangladesh, has congratulated Donald J Trump on his victory as the 47th President of the United States of America.
The congratulatory message has been issued through a post on the verified Facebook page of Awami League on Wednesday evening.
In an official press release signed by Awami League Office Secretary Biplab Barua on Wednesday, she said that his resounding election victory is a testament to his extraordinary leadership qualities and the immense trust bestowed on him by the American people.
Sheikh Hasina fondly recalled her several meetings and interactions as Prime Minister with Donald J Trump and Melania Trump during his first presidency.
She hoped that under his second presidency, the bilateral relations between the friendly countries of Bangladesh and the United States of America would be further strengthened.
The Awami League president expressed her commitment to working together again to advance both countries’ bilateral and multilateral interests.
She wished the President-Elect and his family good health, long life, and happiness, as well as the friendly people of the United States of America, continued peace, progress, and prosperity.
Sheikh Hasina is Bangladesh’s longest-serving Prime Minister. She is now in India after the mass uprising in Bangladesh on August 5.
