Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General stated that BNP was born out of the spirit of the historic November seven Sipahi-people’s revolution.

Speaking as the chief guest at a prayer meeting organized in memory of late former Juba-dal VP Zakir Hossain Nannu at Ananda Community Center in Nayapaltan on Tuesday July 21.

Rizvi asserted that BNP was founded to establish multi-party democracy and ensure people’s right to speak freely, adding that the power of revolution inherently resides within the party.

Urging party grassroots not to succumb to frustration, Rizvi called upon activists to uphold party ideals, noting that the end of a 17-year regime, overcoming adversities, and the top leader’s return home to assume the role of Prime Minister prove that sacrifice never goes in vain.

‘There is nothing to be frustrated about; the force of justice will fill all vacuums one day,’ Rizvi declared, while also praising the current government’s social safety net programs, including the expansion of Family Cards and the distribution of Farmer Cards.

Addressing the assassination of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, the BNP leader noted that the recent arrest of an accused military officer after a long time highlights past culture of impunity, while demanding thorough investigations and accountability for historical political events as well as violence during the recent student movement.

The memorial event was attended by BNP Joint Secretary General Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sopu, Central Jubo Dal General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan, alongside other leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliate wings.
