Ansar-VDP Chief Speaks at DSCSC Mirpur

 

Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud delivered a lecture at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) in Mirpur Cantonment on Tuesday July 21.

 

He presented the lecture titled ‘Role of Ansar-VDP in Peace and War’ upon invitation from the DSCSC for officers participating in the ongoing course.

 

A total of 353 officers attended the event. They included officials from the Bangladesh Army, Navy, Air Force, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, and Bangladesh Police.

 

Director General highlighted the history of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP in the presentation. Contributions of Ansar members during the Language Movement and the Liberation War were also noted.

He detailed the deployment plans, duties, and activities of Ansar and VDP members during peace and war. He also outlined the organizational structure, capabilities, challenges, and future prospects of the force.

 

Major General Sazzad Mahmud stated that the force plays a key role in maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and securing strategic installations. He added that the force performs election duties, disaster management, and social security tasks. He described the grassroots force as an important auxiliary component of national security.

 

Following the presentation, an open question-and-answer session was held. The Director General answered questions from local and foreign officer trainees.

 

Course participants expressed gratitude to the Director General at the end of the event.
