Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday welcomed the return of Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting chairman Tarique Rahman to the country, describing his arrival as a notable political development.
Dr Shafiqur Rahman conveyed the message through a post on Jamaat-e-Islami’s official Facebook page at around 2:00 PM on Thursday, shortly after Tarique Rahman arrived in Bangladesh following a long period abroad.
In the greeting post, the Jamaat ameer wrote, “Mr Tarique Rahman, welcome home with your family,” formally extending greetings on behalf of the party leadership.
Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh earlier in the day after spending 17 years in exile in the United Kingdom.
