The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting on Saturday evening to determine the beginning of the holy month of Zilqad for the year 1447 Hijri.

According to an official press release, the meeting will take place at 6:30 PM at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram in Dhaka.

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad will preside over the meeting.

Islamic Foundation has requested people across the country to report any sighting of the Zilqad moon through designated telephone numbers”02-41053294, 02-226640510, and 02-223383397″or inform the respective Deputy Commissioner (DC) or Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of their area.

The committee will finalize the date of the month based on moon sighting reports received from different parts of the country.
