Chief of Army Staff, General Waker-Uz-Zaman made his first landing on a newly renovated helipad in Bogura, Shibganj upazila.
General Waker arrived in Shibganj at 1:20pm on Wednesday (July 8) to monitor the army’s summer exercise. He landed on the helipad regarding this occasion.
A helipad had long been designated in Shibganj upazila. However, it remained neglected for several years, with no step taken for its renovation. State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, MP. finally took initiative and renovation followed.
This incident marks the very first time the Chief of Army Staff had landed on the newly revamped helipad, effectively bringing back a lost facility that had long laid in negligence.
