PM joins Dhaka Medical College’s 80th anniv

 

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined Dhaka Medical College (DMC) and Hospital’s 80th anniversary.

 

He went to the DMCH premises around 10:02AM on Saturday, amid a  festive atmosphere. The programme began at around 10:15AM by releasing balloons and pigeons on the college campus.

 

The Prime Minister then inaugurated a tree plantation programme by planting a tree to mark the occasion.

 

His wife, Dr Zubaida Rahman, accompanied him during the event.

After the tree plantation, a munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the souls of those martyred during the July Movement.

Later, Chief Engineer of the Health Engineering Department Brigadier General Mir Sarwar Hossain Chowdhury briefed the Prime Minister on the construction of two female dormitories at Dhaka Medical College under a project to build 19 modern hostel buildings for students.

The Prime Minister took a keen interest in the project and sought detailed information about the facilities that students will receive in the new hostel buildings.

Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, State Minister for Health Dr M A Muhit, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Health Dr S M Ziauddin Haider, the Prime Minister’s Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman, Health Services Secretary Md Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, BNP Health Affairs Secretary Prof Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, President of DAB Prof Dr Harun Al Rashid, Director General of the Directorate General of Medical Education Prof Dr Nazmul Hossain, and Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services Prof Dr Pravath Chandra Biswas.
