A case of brazen theft has taken place at Sitakunda temple. On Sunday (June 23) at around 3:30 p.m., the heinous theft took place at Sri Sri Rakshakali Mandir in Syedpur Union.
President of the temple management committee Amal Chandra Karmakar said that the temple priest came to the temple to worship in the morning. Then he saw that the grill of the temple was broken. And there is no gold ornament on the idol. Not only that, the gang of thieves also broke the donation box of the temple and took cash.
He also said that a CCTV footage near the temple showed three to four masked men coming towards the temple with iron shawls.
Meanwhile, Sitakunda Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mizanur Rahman confirmed the truth of the incident and said that he visited the scene in the morning after receiving information about the incident of theft at Kedarkhil Temple in Syedpur Union.
CCTV footage has also been shown and some evidence has also been collected from the spot. It is initially believed to be a case of theft after seeing tools including iron shawls left in the temple. He also said that the investigation is going on to identify those involved in the incident.
I have asked the temple management committee to file a police complaint in writing. And if they do not file a written complaint, our investigation will continue. As it is a case of temple theft
