Representatives from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon in the afternoon, the PMO confirmed in a brief statement.
The AIIB, a multilateral development bank headquartered in Beijing, plays a major role in funding infrastructure and development initiatives across the Asian region. Bangladesh has maintained an active partnership with the institution, which counts more than 100 countries among its members.
Official details regarding the agenda and outcome of the discussion have not yet been made public.
