322 vehicles are working in 41 wards for waste removal

Chittagong is free of sacrificial animal waste before the scheduled time

Chittagong City Corporation has managed to remove the waste of sacrificial animals in Chittagong half an hour before the scheduled time. This was confirmed by Chief Cleaning Officer Commander Latiful Haque Kazmi.

He said that although the target was set to clear the city of sacrificial animal waste by 5 pm on Monday (June 17), Chittagong City Corporation was able to clean almost all the sacrificial animal waste in the city by 4:30 pm.
Chittagong City Mayor Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury along with a team visited different areas of the city and found the sacrificial animal waste free and announced the completion of the first phase of cleaning at 4:30 pm.
Chittagong City Mayor Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, “About 4,500 workers have worked to remove the waste of all sacrificial animals in the city by 5 pm. By 4:30 pm we have been able to clean the city’s waste during the day.
He said that 4000 workers with a total of 322 vehicles worked to remove the waste by dividing the 41 wards of the city into 7 zones. There are 7 water bowls in 7 zones to purify the blood. They are working towards removing all the sacrificial waste in the city by 5 pm.
However, many people in Chittagong perform sacrifices after noon and in the evening. Chief Cleaning Officer Commander Latiful Haque Kazmi said that these wastes will also be cleaned by 8 pm.
