Election Commission (EC) has declared 1,842 nominations valid while rejecting 723 others in the country’s 300 constituencies asthe five-day scrutinization concluded on Sunday.
EC officials confirmed the statistics in the same evening.
However, the scrutiny did not include three nomination papers submitted posthumously by late BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for Feni-1, Bogura-7 and Dinajpur-3 constituencies.
Earlier, a total of 2,568 aspirants submitted nomination papers within the December 29 deadline to contest the 13th parliamentary elections.
