France, Germany congratulate BNP, pledge support for new govt

 

France and Germany have congratulated the people of Bangladesh on the conduct of February 12 parliamentary elections and extended their felicitations to Tarique Rahman and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on their victory, expressing readiness to work closely with the new government.

In a message issued by Embassy of France in Dhaka, Paris praised what it described as “successful and credible elections which took place orderly and transparently on 12 February.”

France also welcomed the positive conclusions of the European Union Election Observation Mission and thanked its volunteers for their dedication.

 

The French Embassy congratulated all elected candidates as well as BNP and its leader Tarique Rahman on their win.

It reaffirmed France’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation under the newly elected leadership, stating that it looks forward to further developing the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

Similarly, German Embassy in Dhaka congratulated Tarique Rahman and BNP on their election victory.

In its statement, Germany commended the people of Bangladesh for their meaningful participation in the electoral process and extended congratulations to all newly elected Members of Parliament.

Germany also expressed its intention to work closely with the new government and Jatiya Sangsad to deepen political and economic ties and to continue supporting Bangladesh in its democratic reforms and development efforts.
