Argentine football legend and World Cup winner Lionel Messi is set to visit India this December as part of the “GOAT (Greatest of All Time) Tour of India 2025.”
The highly anticipated tour will span four major cities; Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Delhi, from December 12 to 15, culminating in a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital.
The details of the tour were confirmed to Press Trust of India (PTI) by event promoter Shatadru Dutta, who stated that Messi himself will officially announce the tour between August 28 and September 1.
Messi’s tour will kick off in Kolkata, where he will spend two days and one night. His visit will include a “Meet and Greet” session with fans, as well as special food and tea events.
A massive 25-foot tall and 20-foot wide statue of Messi is also being planned in the city to commemorate his visit.
Additionally, GOAT Concert and GOAT Cup are expected to be held at either Eden Gardens or Salt Lake Stadium.
On December 13, Messi will head to Ahmedabad to attend an event hosted by the Adani Foundation.
The following day, December 14, he will travel to Mumbai, where a fan interaction event will be held at Brabourne CCI Stadium.
Mumbai will also host GOAT Concert and GOAT Cup at Wankhede Stadium, where Messi will take part in a short exhibition match with Indian celebrities, playing for 5 to 10 minutes.
There are also plans for a “GOAT Captain’s Meet,” bringing together Indian cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma to interact with Messi.
Bollywood stars such as Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh and Tiger Shroff are also expected to join the events.
The grand tour will conclude on December 15 in New Delhi, where Messi is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi; a significant diplomatic and cultural moment of the visit.
