Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said local government elections will be held at the earliest possible time.
Speaking on his first day in office at Secretariat as minister for local government, social development and cooperatives, he said the ministry would prioritise arranging the polls promptly.
Fakhrul also outlined key initiatives, including the distribution of “family cards,” expansion of social safety net programmes and providing necessary support to farmers.
Expressing optimism about the ministry’s future, he said that with cooperation from all stakeholders, it can be transformed into a dynamic and effective institution
