President of the National Board of Revenue’s
(NBR) Customs, Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunal Md Matiur Rahman has been
transferred to the Internal Resources Division (IRD) of the Finance Ministry.
The government today issued a circular directing his immediate transfer, said
a press release.
However, the circular did not mention why this action was taken.
It has been said, “This order issued in public interest will be effective
immediately.”
