National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Sunday inaugurated a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) to bolster cybersecurity and protect critical digital infrastructure, including ASYCUDA system and other sensitive information assets.
The SOC has been established in accordance with the cybersecurity policies and compliance guidelines issued by National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA).
NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan officially inaugurated the in-house centre.
According to NBR officials, the SOC will be operated by a specialised team using advanced technologies and adhering to internationally recognised standards and best practices in cybersecurity management.
The centre will monitor Bangladesh Customs’ cyber space 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to detect, analyse and respond to potential internal and external cyberattacks, risks, suspicious activities and emerging cyber threats.
Designed to enable early detection and rapid preventive measures, the SOC aims to minimise disruptions to revenue operations and safeguard data integrity.
Its launch is also expected to enhance compliance with national cybersecurity frameworks and strengthen public confidence in the security and reliability of NBR’s digital services.
