PM directs uninterrupted power supply during Ramadan events

 

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has instructed authorities to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Sehri, Iftar and Taraweeh throughout the holy month of Ramadan, which begins Wednesday night.

The directive was disclosed by Nurul Haque Nur, state minister for labour and employment, following the first meeting of cabinet held at Secretariat on Wednesday.

According to Nur, the prime minister emphasised the importance of maintaining steady power supply during key religious hours to facilitate smooth observance of Ramadan rituals.

 

During the meeting, Tarique Rahman also urged all ministers to uphold good governance and accountability in honour of the strong public mandate secured by BNP in the February 12 elections.

He called on ministers and state ministers to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, rising above all forms of undue influence and nepotism, particularly in matters related to corruption, Nur added
