AKM Shahidur Rahman, Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), has said that RAB is actively working to create a secure and stable environment ahead of the upcoming national elections by strengthening law and order.
Speaking at a press conference held at the RAB Media Center in Karwan Bazar on Thursday, the DG emphasized that RAB is preparing in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies to support a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
“We are in the process of creating a conducive environment for the elections by improving the law and order situation across the country,” DG Shahidur Rahman said in response to a question about RAB’s election-related preparations.
He noted that specific operational roles and responsibilities will be determined through coordination meetings with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Election Commission as the election date nears. “Once we receive formal instructions, we will carry out our duties accordingly and in full compliance with the law,” he added.
The DG also outlined internal preparedness measures, including specialized in-house training programs for RAB personnel on election-related laws, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
“We are conducting training sessions to ensure our forces are well-informed and fully prepared to handle election-related duties professionally and impartially,” he said.
