The State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku has said that Bangladesh currently holds adequate reserves of fuel to meet national demand.
While addressing Parliament on Tuesday Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said of the total fuel stock, diesel accounts for the largest share of 164,644 metric tons. In addition, the country has reserves of 10,500 metric tons of octane and 16,000 metric tons of petrol.
Emphasizing that fuel supply remains stable, Tuku said the government is procuring fuel from all possible sources to ensure uninterrupted availability.

He also noted that ongoing operations are being conducted to prevent illegal hoarding and black market activities. In last one month, authorities have recovered approximately 40,48,465 liters of fuel through such drives.
