State Minister for Planning Zonayed Saki has stepped down as chief coordinator of Ganosamhati Andolon.
Saki made the announcement at a press conference held at the party’s central office in the capital’s Hatirpool on Saturday.
Dewan Abdur Rashid Nilu has been made acting chief coordinator of the party.
Nilu will serve in the role until a special council is convened to choose new leadership.
Saki was re-elected as chief coordinator during the party’s fifth national council held in Savar on November 3 last year, where a 55-member executive committee was also formed.
