The United Nations has granted international recognition to ‘Mission Green Bangladesh’, a leading youth-led social initiative for environmental protection in Bangladesh for its ‘Tree Plantation Campaign in 64 Districts’.
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has officially recognized this initiative as part of ‘World Environment Day’, according to a release.
Ahsan Roni, Executive Director of Mission Green Bangladesh, said, ‘This recognition from the United Nations Environment Programme has further increased our responsibility. Our journey will continue to tackle the country’s environmental crises and build a sustainable green Bangladesh. This achievement would not have been possible without the outstanding contributions of our thousands of volunteers spread across the country, ordinary citizens, and partner organizations. This achievement belongs to everyone.’
