Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the grand finale of the national phase of ‘Notun Kuri Sports 2025-26’ and distributed prizes among winners.
The event took place on Monday afternoon, July 27 at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka.
The ‘Notun Kuri Sports’ competition kicked off on May 2nd. The central theme of this season’s tournament was ‘Krira hole pesha, poribar pabe bhorosha’ (If sports become a profession, the family finds assurance).
Upon joining the event, PM Tarique Rahman completed a full lap of the Army Stadium grounds and responded to the warm greetings of the children and youth gathered in the galleries. PM walked up to the young crowd, exchanged pleasantries and shook hands. School students expressed immense delight and enthusiasm during the interaction.
The Prime Minister personally watched the girls’ division football final as well as the 100-meter sprint finals for both girls and boys from the venue. Following the events, he handed over the trophies and prizes to the winners.
Additionally, the Prime Minister enjoyed a captivating display performed by the school students.
Following that, around 1,70,000 young athletes aged between 12 and 14 from upazila and district levels across the country participated across eight athletic disciplines. The national phase competition was subsequently held following talent selection drives.
