Drug abuse can’t be eradicated through law alone: Fakhrul

 

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the drug abuse cannot be eradicated solely through law or punitive measures, stressing the need to turn the anti-drug campaign into a social movement.

 

He made the remarks while addressing an anti-drug discussion  as the chief guest at the Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday afternoon.

 

“If drug abuse can be eradicated, many problems of the society will be solved. The incumbent BNP government is making all-out efforts to eradicate drug abuse from the country.”

 

Mirza Fakhrul expressed optimism that the measures being implemented in Thakurgaon would produce positive results.
