Government offices will open on Wednesday after the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. All government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices will run according to the new schedule from 9am to 5pm.

The new office timing will come into effect from Wednesday, the first working day after the Eid-ul-Adha holidays.

The employees of government institutions have worked from 9am to 4pm so far.

Courts and stock markets will run according to the new time-table.
The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on June 3 last, Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain said in a press briefing at the Secretariat.

The offices will run from 9am to 5pm from Sunday to Thursday. However, there will be a break for prayers and lunch from 1pm to 1:30pm, while office will remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays

At present, the employees of government institutions work from 9am to 4pm. This schedule was introduced on November 15, 2022, when the government reduced office hours by one hour in a bid to save electricity. Now, the office timing is returning to its previous schedule.
