Foreign citizens, living and working in Bangladesh, sent home 130.58 million US dollar from their income during the July-April period of the fiscal 2023-24 (July 2023- June 2024).
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali told this while responding to a query by Abdul Kader of Faridpur-3 constituency which was tabled at the parliament on Monday.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was in the chair.
The minister said Bangladesh Bank has no data about the yearly income of the foreign citizens living in the country.
They sent USD 130.58 million remittances to their respective countries in the first three quarters of the fiscal year 2023-24 ending in June this year.
