Joyeeta to resume activities with fresh look: Sharmin S. Murshid

 

Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmin S. Murshid has announced that Joyeeta Foundation will relaunch its activities with a fresh new look, aiming to bring women’s handmade clothes, handicrafts and other creations to global markets in the future.

Speaking at the inauguration of Joyeeta Bijoy Mela 2025 at Joyeeta Foundation Building in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi, Sharmin S. Murshid highlighted the foundation’s role in promoting women’s economic empowerment and entrepreneurship development.

“When women step forward as entrepreneurs, positive changes occur not only in families but also across society,” she said. “The Joyeeta Bijoy Mela provides a platform to celebrate the creativity, hard work and achievements of women.”

 

She emphasized the importance of strengthening women’s skills, market linkages and financial inclusion, noting that the government continues to support women entrepreneurs through policy initiatives and programs.

She expressed hope that the Joyeeta Foundation would further assist in skill development, product branding and marketing for women.

Regarding Victory Day celebrations, the Adviser said the occasion was joyfully observed across all districts and upazilas during the interim government.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry, Mamtaz Ahmed, added that once the full programme of Joyeeta is implemented by the Public Works Department, women entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to showcase their products throughout the year.

He also noted that participants from different regions were pleased to be part of the fair.

Joyeeta Bijoy Mela 2025 will be open to the public from December 18 to December 20, from 10 AM to 8 PM.
