The 12-Party Alliance said that the people of Bangladesh would stand united to resist any aggressive attempts carried out in the name of push-ins that threaten the country’s borders, sovereignty, and national security.
The alliance leaders emphasized that there could be no compromise when it comes to the nation’s independence and sovereignty.
The remarks came from a discussion held on Monday, June 9, 2026, at the temporary central office of the alliance, where the country’s current political, economic, and social situation was reviewed.
Expressing concern over the country’s economic condition, the leaders said that rising prices of fuel, gas, and electricity have pushed the cost of living to an unbearable level for ordinary citizens.
They noted that soaring commodity prices, increased industrial production costs, and mounting pressure on the agricultural sector are driving the economy towards a deeper crisis. The alliance urged the government to ensure transparency and accountability in energy sector and refrain from imposing any further price hikes.
The discussion also highlighted recent push-in activities along the Bangladesh-India border. The leaders described any unilateral measures that violate international law, diplomatic norms, and the spirit of good neighborly relations as a matter of serious concern. They praised the courage of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel, Ansar members, and local residents who have played a role in addressing the situation.
The meeting was chaired by the alliance chief, former minister and chairman of Jatiya Party, Mustafa Jamal Haider.
