Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon on Tuesday said the government will coordinate the university admission process as part of broader reforms aimed at reducing time loss in students’ academic careers.
Speaking at an exchange meeting with officers-in-charge of examination centres under the Chattogram Education Board, Madrasa Education Board and Technical Education Board ahead of the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations, at auditorium of Chattogram College the minister said qualitative changes would be introduced in the education system to ensure timely completion of studies.
Dr Milon said students should be able to complete four-year university programmes within the stipulated period and that unnecessary delays in academic life would not be allowed.
He noted that the schedules for the 2027 SSC and HSC examinations have already been published to allow students adequate preparation time. Similar coordination would also be introduced in the university admission process in the future, he added.
The minister also said education can play a vital role in promoting national unity and called for the implementation of extensive educational development programmes in the hill districts as well as other parts of the country.
