Today is Pahela Baisakh, Bengali New Year-1431 Bangald. The colorful light of dawn has painted the new dreams and possibilities of Bengalis. Like every time, the Pahela Boishakh was celebrated in Chittagong district administration in the premises of Shilpakala Academy with the participation of all irrespective of caste, religion and color.
A colorful Mars procession was held at the beginning of the program. People of all classes and professions spontaneously participate in the procession. To the rhythm of the music, the folk instruments of the ancient traditions of rural Bengal, palanquins, puppets, colorful placards added a unique dimension to the Mars procession.
