Chittagong Metropolitan Environment Department Director Hillol Biswas filed an enforcement case against a person named Zahidul Islam (Javed) for cutting the hill and gave him a notice to appear at the Environment Department when he was cutting a house in the 7th street of the densely populated Lalkhan Bazar Motijharna area under the Khulshi police station of Chittagong city.
Accused Zahidul Islam (Javed) is the son of deceased Abdul Monaf of Motijharna area.

Locals said that Zahidul Islam Javed has been cutting hills in Motijharna area for a long time. He made a colony by cutting the hill and building many houses. From that colony, he collected a rent of tk. 1 lakh per month. The Department of Environment also issued notices to him on several occasions for cutting hills.
Javed was fined Tk 50,000 once by the Department of Environment. On Thursday, November 30, the Department of Environment issued a notice to Javed.

According to local sources, when Javed went to cut the hill to build a house in the morning, SI Helal of Khulshi police station came and stopped the work due to the complaint of neighbors.
According to the Department of Environment, Zahidul Islam was fined for the crime of cutting mountains in August 2021.
