India’s NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has firmly rejected demands for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET examination paper leak and irregularities, reaffirming its full support for the minister despite ongoing protests.

The Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has made it clear that it will not accept the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, despite mounting protests over the alleged paper leak and irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

According to senior government sources quoted by NDTV, there is “no possibility” of the 57-year-old minister stepping down, with the government standing firmly behind him.

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), along with protesting students, has insisted that the resignation or dismissal of Pradhan is the primary condition for ending the demonstrations. However, top government officials have categorically ruled out that possibility.

Speaking to NDTV, a senior government source said that accepting the minister’s resignation would be “the easiest decision,” but emphasized that the government intends to address the issue through concrete reforms rather than symbolic actions.

“The people have given us a mandate, and we will deliver on it,” the official said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to resolving the crisis.

Alongside rejecting the resignation demand, the government has assured that it is taking steps to address the shortcomings of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET examination.

According to the source, the government is preparing a comprehensive list of the agency’s operational flaws and plans to implement permanent reforms. Authorities also claimed that several gangs involved in the alleged paper leak have already been arrested, their networks dismantled, and further strict action is currently underway.
