Sarwar Alamgir takes oath as MP from Chattogram-2

 

Sarwar Alamgir, elected from the Chattogram-2 constituency on a BNP ticket, has taken oath as a member of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad.

 

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Speaker’s office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 7:00pm on Thursday (July 9), where Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed administered the oath.

 

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal, along with cabinet members and lawmakers, attended the ceremony.

 

Earlier, the Election Commission Secretariat issued a gazette notification stating that the gazette of Sarwar Alamgir’s election from Chattogram-2 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election was published in an extraordinary issue of the Bangladesh Gazette on Thursday.

 

Following the publication of the gazette, Sarwar Alamgir took oath as a Member of Parliament in accordance with the Constitution.
