Iran has claimed that its recent military operations destroyed most US military infrastructure in Erbil, Iraq, and rendered several American bases in the Middle East ineffective, though the assertions have not been independently verified.

The claim was made by Iranian military spokesman Brig Gen Mohammad Akramian in a statement broadcast on state television on Saturday.

According to Akramian, Iranian strikes caused extensive damage to US military facilities, particularly in Erbil, where he claimed “almost all” American infrastructure had been destroyed. He also alleged that US-backed “counter-revolutionary groups” operating in the area had lost their operational capability.

The spokesman further said that Iran would continue its military operations if the conflict persisted, even if the United States attempted to rebuild its military capacity through deployments in West Asia, Southern Europe and the Mediterranean region.

Akramian also claimed that, following the 40-day conflict, Iran had deployed a new generation of drones that are more destructive, accurate and have a longer range than the Arash-2 drone. He did not provide further details, citing security reasons.

He added that military equipment damaged during the conflict had been repaired after the ceasefire and said the integration of new technology had strengthened Iran’s air defence capabilities.

However, Iran did not provide independently verifiable evidence to support the claims, and there was no immediate response from the United States.
