A Chattogram court on Thursday afternoon ordered top regional terrorist Mobarak Hossain Emon, alias David Emon, and his three associates sent to jail.
Chattogram Senior Judicial Magistrate-1 Saima Afrin Hima issued the order.
Raihanul Wazed Chowdhury, Assistant Public Prosecutor of the Chattogram Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, confirmed the development.
He stated that the court ordered Emon to jail after showing him arrested in three cases registered with Fatikchhari Police Station. The charges include two arms cases and one murder case.
No defense lawyer appeared for Emon during the hearing. Police will apply for a 10-day remand for him on Sunday.
The accused are Mobarak Hossain Emon, 25, son of the late Md Musa from Kanchan Nagar in Fatikchhari Upazila; Md Shamim, 28, son of the late Abdul Mannan from Monoharganj in Comilla; Al Islam Alif alias Tamal, 25, son of Md Zafar from Shyampur in Dhaka; and Md Safayet Hossain, 24, son of Md Belayet Hossain from Sonaimuri in Noakhali.
Earlier on July 29, police arrested the four accused from the Jhumjhumpur area under Kotwali Police Station in Jashore.
