People’s voices are being stifled gradully: GM Quader

Jatiya Party (JaPa-partial) chairman and leader of the opposition in parliament GM Quader MP has alleged that cases are filed if anyone talks against the government now. Nobody can utter a single word against the government. The government has suppressed people legally. Can it be called an independent country? People’s voices are shut gradully.

He made the remarks while speaking at a discussion organised by JaPa at the party’s Banani office in the capital on Tuesday in observance of the Independence Day.

GM Quader alleged that the government was doing business with the spirit of the War of Liberation. Now-a-days, taka is looted from banks indiscriminately. There is absolutely no accountability anywhere of the government due to lack of good governnance. The government doesn’t feel the necessity of paying any heed to what people want to say.

The JaPa chairman observed that no political party would survive in Bangladesh due to the framing of laws one after another. “The country is heading toward a disastrous situation. None will be able to live well plunging the country into darkness.”

The leader of the opposition in parliament said:”We want a discrimination-free country, disparity-free society. The country has been divided through discrimination. Because of it an opportunistic group has been created in the country and they have got indulged in the politics of looting.”

The discussion was participated by JaPa presidium members Fakhrul Imam, Advocate Md Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, Nazma Akter, Sherifa Quader, Dhaka City North member secretary Sultan Ahmed Selim, Ahad U Chowdhury Shahin, Md Belal Hossain, MA Sobhan, ABM Liaqut Hossain Chaklader and Al Mamun, among others.
